Job Description:
SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Full-time, daily supply from November 2025 These flexible opportunities are ideal for SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings. You’ll be working on a daily supply basis in Harpenden and the surrounding areas, supporting pupils with special educational needs on a one-to-one basis.Duties as SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with a range of SEND including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language needs
- Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement personalised learning plans
- Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and developing social and emotional skills
- Promote inclusion and positive behaviour in the classroom
- Assist with personal care and mobility where required
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and assessments
- Adapt quickly to different school environments and pupil needs
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND in school or care settings
- Proven ability to build strong, trusting relationships with individual pupils
- Understanding of EHCPs and strategies for supporting diverse needs
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent (desirable)
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour and communication
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
