About the Role
You’ll join the production department as a Conversion/Slitter Machine Operator, responsible for setting and running machinery that slits, punches and perforates a range of plastic film products.
Key duties include:
- Setting and operating conversion/slitting machinery in line with customer specifications
- Carrying out macro punch and micro perforation work
- Maintaining quality throughout the production run, including regular sample checks
- Working to lean manufacturing processes to maximise machine uptime
- Bagging, labelling and palletising finished reels
- Using a line-side computer system to follow production schedules
- Completing daily production reports, including weights and meterage
- Maintaining a clean, safe working environment at all times
Skills & Experience
- Experience within a manufacturing or production environment as a machine operator / setter (ideal but not essential)
- Ability to follow technical instructions and customer specifications
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work safely to site procedures
- Comfortable with physical aspects of the role (lifting, bending, moving materials)
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Able to work on the below shift pattern.
Shift Pattern (4-week Continental)
- Week 1: 4 nights, 3 off
- Week 2: 3 days, 1 off, 3 nights
- Week 3: 3 off, 4 days
- Week 4: 7 off
