Pastoral Officer – Full-time, temp to perm, starting as soon as possibleWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pastoral Officer to join a school where pupils are supported to re-engage with learning and develop positive relationships. Staff work hard to understand pupils’ needs and provide tailored support. Leaders are committed to improving pupils’ life chances and ensure that safeguarding is a priority across the school.Duties as Pastoral Officer:
- Provide pastoral support to pupils and families, promoting emotional well-being and engagement
- Attend strategy and core group meetings, contributing professionally and confidently
- Write detailed reports for multi-agency and safeguarding meetings
- Liaise with external professionals and internal teams to support pupil welfare
- Support pupils with behaviour, attendance and safeguarding concerns
- Act as a key contact for families, building trust and offering guidance
- Travel between sites or to family homes as required
- Experience working with children and families in an educational or social care setting
- Confident writing professional reports and attending safeguarding meetings
- Ideally trained as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
- Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and multi-agency working
- Must be a driver with access to a vehicle
- Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
