SEND Teaching Assistant – Full-time, long-term temporary role starting as soon as possibleWe are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism in a nurturing and inclusive school environment. Pupils are supported to develop their confidence and independence through a broad and balanced curriculum. Staff build strong relationships with pupils and provide consistent routines that help them feel safe and ready to learn. Leaders are ambitious for all learners and ensure that safeguarding is prioritised across the school.Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Support pupils with Autism in both classroom and one-to-one settings
- Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated learning activities
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
- Help create a structured and inclusive learning environment
- Work closely with the SENCO and other support staff to implement individual education plans
- Provide feedback on pupil progress and behaviour to teaching staff
- Support pupils during transitions and break times
- Experience working with children or young people with Autism
- Strong understanding of behaviour management and inclusive practices
- Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff
- Resilient, patient and empathetic approach
- Relevant qualifications or training in education, psychology or youth work (desirable)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
