SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Full-time, long-term temporary role starting as soon as possible

Leaders are ambitious for all learners and prioritise safeguarding and well-being across the school.Duties as SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with special educational needs
• Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
• Help create a calm and structured learning environment
• Work closely with the SENCO and other staff to implement individual education plans
• Monitor and report on pupil progress and behaviour
• Support the pupil during transitions and break times

Ideal SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND
• Strong understanding of behaviour management and inclusive practices
• Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff
• Resilient, patient and empathetic approach
• Relevant qualifications or training in education or child development (desirable)
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
