Job Description:
SEND Teaching Assistant – Daily supply across Stockport and surrounding areas, starting as soon as possible These flexible opportunities are ideal for teaching assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different secondary school settings.Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Support students with a range of special educational needs in mainstream secondary classrooms
- Assist with differentiated learning activities and individual support plans
- Promote inclusion and encourage independence in learning
- Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to monitor progress and adapt support
- Help manage behaviour and create a calm, safe learning environment
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and school policies
- Experience supporting students with SEND in secondary schools
- Understanding of a range of learning needs including autism, ADHD, SEMH and speech and language difficulties
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills as a SEND Teaching Assistant
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Patience, resilience and a proactive approach to learning support
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
