Job Description:

SEND Learning Support Assistant (1:1) – Specialist Provision

  • Bromley
  • Monday–Friday 8:30am–3:30pm (School Hours)
  • Start Date: January 2026
  • Pay: £90 - £110 per day

We are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming specialist provision attached to a mainstream school in Bromley, seeking a kind, patient, and experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant to join their team from January 2026.

This is a 1:1 support role working closely with a pupil in Key Stage 1. Although the pupil is of KS1 age, their developmental stage is that of a baby aged approximately 6–12 months. The pupil is pre-verbal and requires consistent, nurturing support throughout the school day.

This role would suit someone who is deeply compassionate and understands the importance of creating a calm, safe, and trusting environment. The pupil can experience moments of distress, which may include screaming or biting, and will benefit from an adult who can respond with patience, reassurance, and confidence.

Your role will include:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support within a specialist provision
  • Supporting a pupil with complex SEND needs
  • Offering emotional regulation and reassurance during challenging moments
  • Supporting with personal care in a respectful and dignified way
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals
  • Helping to create a structured, nurturing, and positive learning environment

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience working in SEN school settings
  • Is confident supporting pupils with complex needs and behaviours
  • Is calm, resilient, and able to build trusting relationships
  • Is willing and comfortable carrying out personal care
  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

Safeguarding & Compliance:

  • A valid DBS is required
  • If you do not hold a DBS issued within the last year, or it is not registered on the DBS Update Service, you will be required to apply for a new one
  • Reference checks will be completed as part of the recruitment process

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who wants to make a meaningful difference in a child’s daily life and development within a supportive school environment.

If you are caring, committed, and looking for a role where your work truly matters, we would love to hear from you. Please contact the agency to apply or to find out more.
