Secondary Outreach Support Officer – Full-time, term-time only, starting January 2026This is an exciting opportunity for a committed professional to join a service dedicated to supporting vulnerable pupils and promoting inclusion. The role focuses on helping secondary-aged pupils reintegrate into mainstream education following exclusion or offsite intervention. The service fosters a positive learning culture that prioritises pupil success, well-being, and strong partnerships between schools, families, and external agencies.Duties as Secondary Outreach Support Officer:
- Support pupils at risk of exclusion or returning from offsite intervention to reintegrate successfully into mainstream education
- Provide mentoring, target setting, and action planning for pupils on outreach and within service centres
- Liaise with school staff to improve curriculum access and inclusion for vulnerable pupils
- Work with families to promote effective home-school partnerships
- Assist with home visits in line with borough guidelines
- Establish communication channels with schools and agencies to ensure coordinated support
- Collaborate with professionals such as Educational Psychologists, CAMHS, and Children’s Services
- Attend and organise multi-agency meetings and case conferences as required
- Manage a caseload of pupils and maintain accurate records and reports
- Respond promptly to pupils at risk and liaise with external agencies for safeguarding
- Use Positive Handling techniques as required and attend regular training
- Comply with child protection, health and safety, confidentiality, and data protection policies
- Experience working with vulnerable pupils and supporting inclusion in education
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, and professionals
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Ability to manage a caseload and maintain accurate documentation
- Medically fit and capable of using Positive Handling techniques
- Must hold a valid driving licence and have daily access to a vehicle
- Commitment to professional development and collaborative working
