Job Description:
My client is a world leader in the design, manufacture, installation and management of process plants for Surface Treatment, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Process Water Recycling. They provide solutions from a fully automated process plant to smaller manual lines, spares and specialist equipment.
As the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you are responsible to lead the mechanical Design team to produce system drawings, general arrangement drawings, sub-assembly drawings and detail part drawings in 2D CAD or 3D Inventor, deliver projects on schedule and within budget, manage the capacity planning of the Design team, establish and track KPIs, manage sub-contracting activities, and provide leadership within the team.
What we would like from the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Degree qualified or equivalent academic qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of design experience in special-purpose machine design or the manufacturing field
- Proficient with 3D modelling and 2D detailed drafting on Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
- Strong background in the manufacturing industry (chemical and processing is advantageous)
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Expert in producing documentation of a level suitable for manufacturing, assembly, and installation
