Automated Packaging & Battery-Powered Equipment
An ever-growing automated packaging engineering firm is seeking an experienced Electrical Service Engineer to support the development, installation, maintenance and continuous improvement of a wide range of automated and battery-powered packaging equipment.
This is a hands-on, technically varied role offering exposure to end-of-line packaging machinery, electrical systems, product development activities and electromechanical fault-finding within a fast-paced engineering environment.
The Role as an Electrical Service Engineer:Develop, install, maintain and service electrical systems on automated packaging machinery
Fault-find, repair and commission battery-powered equipment and end-of-line packaging machinery
Diagnose electrical and electromechanical faults, including basic circuit board diagnostics
Strip down machinery, identify root causes, and carry out effective repairs
Work closely with design, innovation and production teams to:
Test prototypes
Validate performance
Support manufacturing readiness
Support customer trials, provide on-site or remote technical assistance, and feedback into product development
Produce and maintain technical documentation, test reports and service records
Contribute to continuous product improvement initiatives
Ensure all work is completed in line with Machine Directive standards and relevant safety regulations
You’ll bring as an Electrical Engineering professional:
Degree or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or a related discipline)
Strong experience (5 years) within electrical or electronic product development, manufacturing, or service engineering environments
Proven experience supporting products from concept through to production and operational use
Strong understanding of machinery and electromechanical systems
Confident fault-finding skills with a practical, hands-on mindset
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and support customer-facing activities
A proactive, self-starting approach with strong attention to detail
