Job Description:

Step Teachers are seeking dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants for daily supply work around King’s Lynn and the surrounding areas, starting as soon as possible. This opportunity is within a network of inclusive and supportive schools that prioritise the individual needs of every pupil. Staff are valued for their contributions and encouraged to develop professionally. The schools foster a nurturing environment where pupils with SEND are empowered to thrive both academically and personally. Duties as SEND Teaching Assistants:
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to pupils with a range of special educational needs
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
  • Support pupils with personal care needs, where required
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive interactions
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
  • Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
  • Collaborate with SENCOs and other professionals to implement EHCPs
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistants:
  • Relevant SEND or Teaching Assistant qualifications
  • Experience providing 1:1 support to children with SEND
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills as SEND Teaching Assistants.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
