Employment Specialist
Across North Staffordshire
£29,400 (25 Days Holiday Bank Holidays, Pension Scheme)
Full-time, Permanent
The Role:
We are looking for proactive, self-motivated Employment Specialists to join a Connect to Work team across Staffordshire. This is a rewarding role working closely with individuals who have disabilities or health-related challenges, supporting them to secure sustainable employment and build long-term confidence and independence.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a personal caseload, delivering all customer interactions face to face within the community.
- Complete a detailed diagnostic at the initial appointment to understand each customer’s employment history, skills, learning needs and barriers to work.
- Develop tailored action plans and refer customers to appropriate training, workshops, mentoring and other interventions to address identified barriers and build employability.
- Set clear SMART targets with each customer and review progress at every appointment to support sustained movement into employment.
Required skills and experience
- Proven experience working with unemployed customers, including managing a varied caseload and working towards job outcome targets.
- Experience supporting individuals with multiple barriers to employment, with the ability to carry out in-depth diagnostics and identify realistic pathways into work.
- Strong experience of setting and monitoring SMART targets, with a focused and organised approach to caseload management.
- A high level of empathy and a genuine commitment to supporting people to achieve positive outcomes.
Due to the nature of this role, you will be a vehicle driver with access to your own vehicle. You will be required to complete an online Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and you will have access to your own vehicle as you will travel across the region.
