Large Format Printer Operator

Location: Northampton
Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: 8:00am – 4:30pm

We’re working with a highly regarded print and display production specialist based in Northampton, known for delivering premium-quality large format graphics across a wide range of sectors. With a strong reputation for precision, creativity, and customer service, they continue to invest in people and technology and are now looking to strengthen their production team.

They are seeking an experienced Large Format Printer Operator with hands-on experience running UV wide format printers to support their busy, quality-driven operation.

The Role

• Operating an EFI Vutek printer
• Preparing and setting up print files, materials and substrates to ensure accurate, high-quality output
• Monitoring print runs for colour accuracy, consistency and quality, making adjustments where required
• Carrying out daily maintenance, cleaning and basic troubleshooting of printing equipment
• Supporting the finishing process, including:
  • Vinyl weeding and preparation
  • Vinyl application
  • Laminating
  • Eyeletting and hemming
• Working closely with finishing and dispatch teams to meet deadlines and job specifications
• Maintaining excellent quality control and adhering to health & safety procedures at all times

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience operating EFI Vutek or similar UV wide format printers i.e HP Scitex, Mimaki, Durst
• Experience with flatbed cutting tables (Zund, Kongsberg, Dyss) – desirable but not essential
• Strong understanding of large format print processes, materials and finishing techniques
• Exceptional eye for detail and colour accuracy
• Ability to read and interpret job tickets and print specifications
• Reliable, organised and able to manage workload in a fast-paced production environment
• Strong communication skills with a positive, team-focused attitude
• Able to work independently as well as part of a wider production team
• Forklift licence advantageous but not essential
