Are you highly organised, proactive, and ready to make an impact in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We’re looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join a leading global manufacturer on a 6-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to support a dynamic supply chain team and ensure production runs smoothly.
What you’ll be doing:
- Work closely with Engineering Buyers and the Supply Chain Manager to keep assembly lines moving without delays.
- Manage the Kanban system daily and chase suppliers to prevent shortages.
- Operate the fax ban system, ensuring timely communication with suppliers.
- Monitor and update overdue delivery reports, escalating issues that could impact production.
- Assist with raising purchase orders, subcontract orders, and miscellaneous requests.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineers to resolve material return orders within KPI targets.
- Take ownership of purchasing administration and suggest process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with suppliers and internal teams.
- Excellent organisational and administrative abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- A sense of urgency and assertiveness to keep things on track.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Previous experience in a similar environment or a recent graduate eager to start a career in supply chain.
