But not every business gives you the chance to understand what those numbers really mean, and how they shape decisions, growth, and future success.

This is one of those opportunities.

You’ll work closely with an experienced Financial Controller and wider Group Finance function, supporting the day-to-day finance function while gaining exposure to management accounts, statutory reporting, tax, and group accounting. It’s a role designed to stretch you, but with the right support around you.

This isn’t about being thrown in at the deep end.
It’s about being trusted, guided, and given room to grow.

What You’ll Be Doing (and Learning Along the Way)

You’ll be involved in the financial heartbeat of a multi-company manufacturing group, including:

  • Supporting monthly management accounts for three group companies, including consolidated accounts

  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns

  • Assisting with statutory accounts and corporation tax returns

  • Handling day-to-day accounting activities, banking, sales and purchase invoices, recharges

  • Completing bank and intercompany reconciliations

  • Managing the finance inbox and responding to queries professionally

  • Supporting audits, responding to internal and external information requests

  • Acting as a key support to the Financial Controller and wider Group Finance team

Who This Role Is Likely to Suit

You don’t need to know everything, but you do need solid foundations and the right mindset.

You’ll already have:

  • At least two years’ experience in a finance role
  • A good grasp of core accounting processes (AP, AR, bank reconciliations)
  • Experience using accounting software
  • Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to juggle tasks, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly

And just as importantly, you’ll be:

  • Studying, or keen to study towards a recognised accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Curious, reliable, and comfortable asking questions
  • Someone who takes pride in getting things right

What’s On Offer

  • £27,000 – £33,000 study, depending on experience
  • Permanent role, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours)
