Job Description:

Trainee Marketing Assistant

Brownsville, TX On-Site Marketing Events Position

This opportunity is designed for someone at the beginning of their career who wants practical exposure to marketing and brand awareness without being stuck behind a screen.

An events and promotions business is currently being represented in the search for one Trainee Marketing Assistant to support live, in-person campaigns across Brownsville. The role focuses on brand representation, customer engagement, in person marketing and learning how promotional campaigns perform in real environments.

This is a hands-on position based at organised events and pop-up locations, where learning happens through direct experience rather than theory alone.

About the Role

The Trainee Marketing Assistant supports campaigns by helping bring brands to life at local events. Working alongside experienced team members, the role involves setting up branded displays, interacting with the public, and communicating key messages clearly and confidently.

Rather than focusing on digital or office-based work, this position provides exposure to how brands connect with customers face to face and how campaigns adapt based on real feedback.

What You’ll Be Involved In

This role is centered around learning how brands connect with people in real-world environments. As a Trainee Marketing Assistant, involvement goes beyond simply attending events — it’s about understanding how campaigns are presented, how customers respond, and how messaging is adapted on the ground.

At events, the Trainee Marketing Assistant helps bring campaigns to life by supporting the setup of branded spaces and ensuring displays are welcoming, organised, and aligned with the campaign message. Once events are live, the focus shifts to engaging with the public, explaining who the brand is, what it represents, and why the campaign matters.

A key part of the role is observation and feedback. By speaking directly with customers, the Trainee Marketing Assistant helps gather insights around interest levels, common questions, and overall reactions. This information is shared with the wider team to help refine messaging and improve future campaigns.

There is also exposure to the commercial side of events. Where applicable, the role supports sign-ups, registrations, or transactions, helping the team understand how awareness activity translates into measurable results.

Overall involvement includes:

  • Helping prepare and present branded event spaces

  • Interacting with the public to communicate campaign messages clearly

  • Supporting brand awareness through face-to-face engagement

  • Gathering customer feedback and noting common trends or responses

  • Assisting with sign-ups, confirmations, or transactions when required

  • Learning how live campaigns are evaluated and improved over time

This role is designed to build practical understanding of marketing, brand representation, and customer engagement through hands-on experience rather than theory alone.

Pay & Training

This position is paid weekly and is structured to reward consistency and effort. A base level of pay is provided, with opportunities to earn more through commission and bonuses during events.

Most people working a full event schedule earn around 600–800 per week.

Training and guidance are provided before campaigns start and continue throughout.

Development

This role is intended as a starting point. As experience grows, there is opportunity to take on more responsibility within campaigns or move toward sales, coordination, or leadership support roles.
