SEMH Teaching Assistant – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately

You’ll be supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in Brentford and the surrounding areas, helping them access learning and develop positive coping strategies.Duties as SEMH Teaching Assistant:

- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
- Help implement individual behaviour plans and emotional regulation strategies
- Support pupils in developing social skills and resilience
- Promote an inclusive and positive learning environment
- Monitor and record pupil progress and communicate effectively with staff and parents
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs in a school setting
- Knowledge of strategies for managing challenging behaviour and promoting emotional well-being
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Patience, empathy, and adaptability
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Willingness to undertake relevant training and professional development
