 The Role of Automation Service Support Engineer

They are looking for an experienced Automation Service Support Engineer to become part of their team. In this position, you will deliver specialised technical support to their global customers for legacy machinery. Your main responsibilities will include diagnosing faults, troubleshooting issues, and providing remote technical solutions from the office.

 Responsibilities of the Automation Service Support Engineer

• Provide remote technical support to customers for legacy equipment, including fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of electrical, pneumatic, control, and instrumentation issues.
• Assist Customer Service Managers and SMEs with technical advice on equipment upgrades and enhancements.
•  Prepare and present technical quotations for equipment upgrades.
• Interface directly with customers in a professional, technical capacity to improve their experience.
• Collaborate with the project team on control system design, commissioning, and customer support activities.

 Requirements of the Automation Service Support Engineer

• Minimum of 5 years experience in control systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical switchgear and motor control design.
•  Proven experience with Siemens TIA and Step 7 PLC programming, HMI configuration (Siemens WinCC, Flexible HMI), and Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLCs.
• Proficiency in fault finding and troubleshooting automation software and hardware.
• Familiarity with process instrumentation and control systems.
