SEN Learning Support Assistant
Primary Academy – SEN Unit Enfield
Full-Time Term-Time Only
£89 – £100 per day

A welcoming and inclusive academy in Enfield is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work within a dedicated SEN unit, supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs.

The role involves working as part of a small, supportive team in a class of 12 children, providing both learning and personal care support. Pupils range in age from Reception to 9 years old.

The Role

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will support children with a variety of additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and feel safe and supported throughout the school day.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting pupils with SEN within a specialist SEN unit
  • Assisting with personal care, including toileting and hygiene where required
  • Supporting learning activities in small groups and on a 1:1 basis
  • Helping to manage behaviour and promote positive engagement
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team to deliver tailored support
  • Encouraging communication, social interaction, and emotional development
  • Ensuring a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment

Person Specification

  • Experience working with SEN children (school, care, or support setting)
  • Comfortable supporting personal care needs
  • Patient, caring, and resilient approach
  • Able to work well as part of a team
  • A positive attitude and genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

This role is suitable for experienced SEN Learning Support Assistants as well as individuals with relevant care or support experience looking to progress within education.
