SEND Teacher – Part-time, long-term temporary role starting as soon as possible
This school provides a nurturing and structured learning environment where pupils benefit from consistent routines, supportive adults, and teaching that helps them steadily develop academic and personal skills. Staff work closely together to meet pupils’ individual needs, and children respond positively to calm, well-planned lessons that promote confidence and engagement. Leadership supports a culture where pupils feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.Duties as SEND Teacher:
  • Teach short, 10‑minute Maths sessions to one class before repeating the same lesson across five classes
  • Deliver learning pitched at Reception to Year 1 level, with some pupils working at nursery level
  • Focus on high-quality teaching while other adults manage behaviour
  • Adapt lessons to support pupils with ADHD and varied developmental needs
  • Work effectively with 2–3 adults in each room to support consistent routines
  • Provide clear structure and repetition to help pupils embed key skills
  • Maintain a calm, positive classroom atmosphere
  • Uphold safeguarding standards and prioritise pupil welfare
Ideal SEND Teacher:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience supporting SEND pupils
  • Strong understanding of ADHD strategies and early-years level teaching
  • Ability to deliver concise, structured learning in short sessions
  • Calm, patient, and adaptable approach to changing needs
  • Confident working with multiple adults in the classroom
  • Effective communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive, supportive attitude towards pupil development
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil well-being
