You will be supporting pupils in Feltham and the surrounding areas, helping them develop emotional regulation, confidence, and positive learning behaviours.Duties as SEMH Teaching Assistant:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs
• Assist teachers in delivering adapted and engaging learning activities
• Help implement behaviour support plans and individual strategies
• Promote positive relationships and model constructive communication
• Support pupils in managing challenging behaviours in line with school policies
• Encourage participation, independence, and resilience
• Monitor pupil progress and share observations with staff
• Contribute to wider school life during longer-term placements

Ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant:

• Previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs
• Understanding of behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
• Patience, empathy, and a calm, supportive approach
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with pupils
• Adaptable across different key stages and learning environments
• Professional, reliable, and proactive in supporting staff and pupils
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
• Willingness to undertake SEMH-related or behaviour-focused training
