Teaching Assistant – Full-time, long-term temporary role until Easter, starting as soon as possibleThis school provides a positive, well‑organised, and supportive learning environment where pupils benefit from caring staff, clear routines, and purposeful teaching. Leaders work collaboratively with support staff to maintain high expectations, helping pupils feel safe, motivated, and ready to learn. Pupils respond well to adults who foster confidence, engagement, and consistent behaviour routines.Duties as Teaching Assistant:
  • Support pupils in accessing learning across different subjects and activities
  • Assist the class teacher with delivering planned lessons and small‑group work
  • Reinforce key learning objectives and help children remain engaged
  • Follow classroom routines and behaviour expectations
  • Provide one‑to‑one or group support where needed
  • Assist with preparation of learning materials
  • Promote positive social and emotional development
  • Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare
Ideal Teaching Assistant:
  • Experience supporting pupils in a primary or secondary setting
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Able to follow teacher direction and work proactively
  • Patient, calm, and supportive approach
  • Confident managing behaviour and encouraging engagement
  • Adaptable and able to support pupils with varying needs
  • Reliable, enthusiastic, and committed to pupil development
