Job Description:

Exam Invigilator and Scribes – Part-time, temp-to-perm role starting in May 2026 (minimum 2 hours per session)
This school provides a calm, well‑organised, and supportive environment where pupils benefit from clear routines and attentive staff. Leaders work closely with examination and support teams to ensure high standards of integrity, safeguarding, and fairness during assessments. Pupils feel safe, respected, and supported by adults who help maintain a focused and reassuring exam atmosphere.Duties as Exam Invigilator and Scribes:
  • Support students during examinations as an invigilator, reader, or scribe
  • Read exam questions aloud and/or write answers dictated by students
  • Work a minimum of 2 hours per session as required
  • Ensure exam regulations and procedures are followed at all times
  • Maintain a calm and orderly exam environment
  • Assist students with additional needs in line with access arrangements
  • Prepare exam materials and organise the exam room layout
  • Report any irregularities or concerns to senior staff
  • Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare
Ideal Exam Invigilator and Scribes:
  • Strong command of written and spoken English
  • Calm, reliable, and confident in supporting pupils during assessments
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and follow strict procedures
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Professional, patient, and attentive to detail
  • Flexible and comfortable working short sessions (minimum 2 hours)
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil well‑being
  • Experience in education settings is helpful but not essential
