SEND Teaching Assistant – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing role starting as soon as possible

Pupils respond positively to patient, skilled adults who promote confidence, resilience, and steady academic and personal progress.Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:
  • Provide full-time support for mixed-age pupils within the ARP
  • Support pupils with a range of high‑functioning SEND needs
  • Assist with emotional regulation and social development
  • Work with small groups and 1:1 to reinforce learning
  • Follow consistent routines and implement support and behaviour plans
  • Collaborate with teachers and additional adults to maintain a calm environment
  • Adapt approaches to meet varied learning, communication, and sensory needs
  • Uphold safeguarding standards and prioritise pupil welfare
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience supporting SEND pupils in an educational setting
  • Confident working with high‑functioning SEND and mixed-age groups
  • Level 2 or 3 TA qualification desirable, but experience is essential
  • Calm, patient, and consistent approach, especially when challenges arise
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Adaptable, proactive, and able to respond to varied pupil needs
  • Resilient and committed to supporting pupil development
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil well‑being
