We are currently working with a rapidly growing contractor delivering projects across the social infrastructure sector. Due to continued expansion and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their team based in Swanley.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking business delivering refurbishment, retrofit, and maintenance projects within the social housing sector.
The Role
As Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive tenders, supporting the business in securing new projects and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analysing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates
- Producing detailed cost build-ups and tender submissions within strict deadlines
- Collaborating with commercial, operational, and technical teams to ensure submissions are commercially robust
- Identifying risks and value engineering opportunities within tenders
- Monitoring market rates, material costs, and labour pricing
- Supporting the handover process from pre-construction to delivery teams
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners
About You
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within the construction industry
- Strong background in social housing refurbishment / planned works
- Knowledge of JCT and ACA forms of contract
- Ability to carry out take-offs from drawings and prepare Bills of Quantities
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Confident working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or similar (desirable)
