Reception Year Teacher – Full-time, long-term temporary role starting as soon as possibleThis school provides a warm, nurturing, and well‑structured learning environment where children benefit from supportive adults, clear routines, and purposeful EYFS teaching. Staff work collaboratively to uphold high expectations, helping pupils feel safe, confident, and engaged in their learning. Pupils respond positively to calm, consistent approaches that promote communication, independence, and steady early development.Duties as Reception Year Teacher:
  • Teach a Reception class full time for sickness cover, with no planning required
  • Work alongside strong classroom TAs to support children’s learning and development
  • Deliver engaging EYFS lessons and maintain consistent daily routines
  • Support children with a range of needs typical of EYFS classrooms
  • Promote early literacy, numeracy, phonics, and play‑based learning
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet varied learning needs, including SEND
  • Assess pupil engagement and provide verbal feedback to support progress
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high EYFS standards
  • Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil well‑being
Ideal Reception Year Teacher:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with strong EYFS experience
  • Confident teaching Reception and supporting varied developmental needs
  • Able to work effectively with classroom TAs and wider EYFS staff
  • Calm, nurturing, and proactive approach to early learning
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Reliable, dedicated, and committed to supporting high‑quality provision
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting child welfare
