RECfinancial are currently recruiting for a Senior Procurement Officer to join a well-established engineering manufacturing business. This is a key role within the organisation, where the successful applicant will have the opportunity to grow and develop within the role. 

Full-time on a permanent basis.  Commutable from Blaby, Enderby, Lutterworth, Leicester and wider Leicestershire.
 

ABOUT THE SENIOR PROCUREMENT OFFICER ROLE 

Working closely with engineering, production, and finance teams, you will ensure that materials are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and delivered on time to maintain smooth manufacturing operations.  Responsible for managing the purchasing of materials, components, and services required to support production and operational requirements.

Overseeing and working alongside one Procurement Assistant within the office team.  This is a unique opportunity to join a well-established engineering business.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES SENIOR PROCUREMENT OFFICER ROLE

  • Managing the procurement of raw materials, engineering components, and services required for manufacturing operations.

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and competitive pricing.

  • Negotiating supplier pricing, contracts, and delivery terms to achieve cost savings and value for the business.

  • Raising and managing purchase orders and ensuring accurate records are maintained within the purchasing system.

  • Monitoring stock levels and coordinating with production planning to ensure materials are available when required.

  • Resolving supplier queries, delivery issues, and quality concerns in a timely manner.

  • Identifying opportunities to improve procurement processes and supplier performance.

  • Assisting with supplier reviews, performance tracking, and sourcing of new suppliers where required.

  • Working closely with internal departments including engineering, production, and finance to support operational requirements.
     

CORE SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Previous experience within a procurement, purchasing, or supply chain role, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.

  • Experience working with ERP or purchasing systems.

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.

  • Competent with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
