Are you the type of progressive business leader who loves the cut and thrust of operational management within a manufacturing organisation, and who enjoys the challenges that producing a consistently large volume of materials at pace can bring.

I am currently working with a leading manufacturer within the building materials industry with a leading presence in the market, providing a premium product used for multiple applications, reporting to the Executive Leadership Team they are looking for an experienced person to become the Head of Operations in a highly visible role, someone who has a hands-on approach to management, developing culture and mentoring the operational team

What you will be doing:

• Hold full responsibility for the success of the manufacturing facility which includes a workforce of over 180 people
• Manage the operational budgets
• Lead and develop operational strategy aligned with the overall corporate objectives
• Drive operational excellence throughout all areas of the site, from manufacturing, engineering, operational support and supply chain
• Use raw data and cost analysis to design, promote and improve process to be more efficient to increase profitability
• Mentor the departmental management teams in their personal growth and development within the business
• Provide strategic leadership and reporting to the executive leadership team
• Promote Health & Safety as a key principle of the business

Skills Experience

• It is expected that you will be qualified to degree level
• A proven track record in operational Leadership in a large multi–process manufacturing business
• Be a strategic thinker and problem solver with experience implementing lean manufacturing, operational excellence or transformation programmes with a continuous improvement mindset
• Exceptional commercial awareness and the ability to align operational performance with corporate business strategy
• Strong Leadership Capability with experience of leading large teams and senior management
