English Teacher – Part-time, long-term temporary role for one year starting as soon as possible

Pupils respond well to purposeful English lessons that build curiosity, resilience, and strong academic progress across the curriculum.Duties as English Teacher:
  • Teach English four days per week across relevant secondary year groups
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop reading, writing, and analytical skills
  • Maintain consistent routines and promote positive behaviour
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet varied learning needs
  • Assess and monitor progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development
  • Support pupils in building confidence and independence in English
  • Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare
Ideal English Teacher:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with strong English teaching experience
  • Confident teaching across KS3 and KS4
  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Able to motivate learners of mixed abilities
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Reflective, proactive, and committed to high‑quality teaching
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil well‑being
