A lovely primary school in Brent are currently looking to recruit a Year 6 Teaching Assistant to work with students to support with SATS preparation.

The Role

In this role will work closely with the Year 6 teachers and the school’s leadership team to support Year 6 pupils in the lead-up to SATs, helping them achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils preparing for SATs.
  • Deliver targeted interventions to address gaps in learning identified by the class teacher.
  • Support reading, writing, grammar, spelling, and maths sessions, helping pupils consolidate learning.
  • Help pupils develop confidence and resilience during exam preparation.
  • Support classroom management and behaviour to ensure a focused learning environment.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress, engagement, and areas for further support.
  • Assist with preparation of learning materials and SATs resources.
  • Monitor pupil progress and communicate updates to class teacher and leadership team.

This is a key role in ensuring pupils are well-prepared, confident, and motivated for SATs, with additional responsibilities for supporting general classroom learning, behaviour, and engagement.

The school are looking for a Year 6 Teaching Assistant with excellent written English and strong maths skills and is passionate about education and enjoys working with children at a pivotal stage in their school journey. You should be patient, adaptable, and proactive.
