Job Description:

Job Title: Maintenance Lead
Location:
Tutbury
Salary:
Up to £55,000
Shift:
Day Shift (Monday to Friday – No Nights, No Weekends)

If you're an experienced engineer who’s tired of red tape, constant firefighting, and being micromanaged, this could be the role you’ve been looking for.

We’re recruiting for a Maintenance Lead to take full ownership of the engineering function at a well established site in Derby. This is a standalone role where you’ll have the freedom and trust to run things properly, without layers of management getting in the way.

You’ll be the go to person for engineering on site. The person who keeps things running, plans maintenance the right way, and calls in specialist contractors when needed. You’ll have the autonomy to improve systems, manage the PPM schedule, and put your own stamp on how engineering is run.

Most importantly, this is a role that offers genuine work life balance. There are no night shifts and no weekend work, allowing you to focus on doing a good job during the day and switching off afterwards.

What you’ll be doing

  • Taking full ownership of the site’s engineering and maintenance activities

  • Managing and developing the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule

  • Responding to breakdowns and resolving issues quickly and effectively

  • Managing and coordinating external contractors when specialist work is required

  • Working with manufacturers and suppliers when needed

  • Supporting site projects and improvements

  • Continuously improving how engineering operates on site

Why this role stands out

  • Up to £55,000 salary

  • Monday to Friday role – no nights and no weekends

  • A true standalone position with autonomy

  • The freedom to run engineering your way

  • The chance to make a real impact on how the site operates

What we’re looking for

  • A hands on engineer with strong maintenance experience

  • Someone comfortable working independently and taking ownership

  • Experience working with contractors and external suppliers

  • A practical problem solver who can manage breakdowns and preventative maintenance

  • Someone who enjoys improving systems rather than just maintaining them

If you are interested in this role get in touch with Josh Sharkey from Stirling Warrington for this Maintenance role or any other role in the Derbyshire area.
