Job Description:
CNC Setter/Operator – Days Only (£13.50 p/h)
Monday to Friday
Princes Risborough
We are looking for a CNC Setter/Operator to join a friendly and well established machine shop offering a day’s only position at £13.50 per hour. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys stability, a supportive working environment, and the chance to grow within a business that genuinely values its people. The team has a strong family feel culture, and you’ll be welcomed into a workshop where collaboration and craftsmanship come first.
Responsibilities of this CNC Setter/Operator position:
In this role, you will set and operate 3 axis and 5 axis CNC machines, ensuring that all components meet specification through accurate in process inspection. You will take care of tooling changes, fixtures, and offset adjustments to keep production running smoothly. You’ll support the wider workshop by working with additional equipment such as bandsaws and manual machines, with full training offered where required. Maintaining a safe, tidy, and professional working environment is essential, and you’ll work closely with senior machinists and offline programmers to resolve machining challenges and keep throughput strong.
Requirements of this CNC Setter/Operator position:
We are seeking someone with around five years of CNC machining experience who is confident setting and operating multi axis CNC machines. You should have a solid understanding of engineering drawings and measurement tools and bring experience from machining metals, plastics, composites, or wood. Formal qualifications such as a City & Guilds or apprenticeship are helpful but not essential. A reliable, enthusiastic, and motivated approach is key, along with the ability to support a productive and high-quality workflow.
Benefits of this CNC Setter/Operator position:
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in a stable and supportive workshop. You’ll receive training on additional equipment, gain exposure to multiple CNC machine types, and join a business where long term development is genuinely encouraged. Many machinists here have progressed through the shop, expanding their responsibilities as their skills grow. You’ll enjoy a warm, family feel environment and a steady day only schedule that provides excellent work–life balance.
