Catering Assistant – Part-time, long-term temporary from April 2026 A recent inspection highlighted a positive and nurturing school environment where pupils feel safe, supported, and motivated to succeed. Staff maintain high expectations, and leaders demonstrate a clear commitment to continuous improvement and the wellbeing of the whole school community. Teaching is well organised, behaviour is managed effectively, and pupils benefit from a calm, inclusive atmosphere that promotes strong personal and academic development.Duties as Catering Assistant:
  • Assist with the preparation and serving of food in line with dietary and health and safety requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, dining areas, and food preparation zones.
  • Support larger team operations during busy service times.
  • Follow hygiene procedures, including correct storage and handling of ingredients.
  • Assist with stock rotation and basic inventory tasks.
  • Help set up and clear down food service areas each day.
Ideal Catering Assistant:
  • Experience in a catering or food service environment is desirable.
  • Understanding of food hygiene and willingness to follow set procedures.
  • Positive attitude with the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to supporting a smooth-running kitchen.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a busy school environment.
  • Willingness to undertake any necessary training.
  • Must have Health and Hygiene certificate
