Senior Supply Chain Manager – On-site in Harlow, UK – Permanent Position

About the Role

As the Senior Supply Chain Manager, you will oversee the entire supply chain ecosystem — from procurement and production planning to warehousing, logistics, and customer fulfilment. You’ll lead cross-functional teams, build strong supplier networks, and implement strategies that enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness while supporting business growth.

 

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Source high-quality materials at competitive prices to meet production needs.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, tracking performance and mitigating risk.
  • Lead an effective expediting function to prevent delays and ensure material availability.
  • Identify opportunities for savings, quality improvements, and supplier optimisation.

Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)

  • Drive a robust S&OP process to align supply with business demand.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and production teams.
  • Monitor forecasts and adjust inventory strategies to balance demand and supply.

Customer Service & Fulfilment

  • Own the Order-to-Delivery process, ensuring goods are delivered OTIF.
  • Lead the customer service team to enhance responsiveness and customer satisfaction.
  • Implement continuous improvements to reduce lead times and increase delivery reliability.

Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop efficient production plans aligned with forecast and inventory targets.
  • Allocate resources effectively to support operational agility.
  • Partner with quality teams to maintain high manufacturing standards.

Inventory & Warehouse Management

  • Oversee stock accuracy, storage optimisation, and warehouse operations.
  • Reduce excess and obsolete inventory through smart planning.
  • Use data-driven tools to optimise stock levels and ensure availability.

Logistics & Goods Flow

  • Manage inbound and outbound flows for maximum accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with logistics partners to enhance transportation performance.
  • Troubleshoot bottlenecks and drive improvements to delivery metrics.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and develop a high-performing supply chain team.
  • Set clear KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and promote a culture of excellence.
  • Encourage cross-functional collaboration and communication.

 

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 8 years of supply chain experience, including 3 years in a senior leadership role within manufacturing or similar industry.
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related discipline (Master’s or certifications such as APICS/CIPS preferred).
  • Strong experience with ERP systems, forecasting tools, and supply chain optimisation software.
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects, influence stakeholders, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
