We are recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded primary school with a nursery at its heart, located in West London. The school is part of a well-established multi-academy trust and is known for its genuine, lived commitment to inclusion - guided by the belief that connection comes before correction, and that every child deserves to feel they belong.

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) within the nursery setting. This is a meaningful, hands-on role working closely with the class teacher, SENCo and wider team to ensure the child receives consistent, high-quality support tailored to their individual needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering focused 1:1 support for a child with ASC in a nursery environment
  • Implementing targeted communication and behavioural support strategies
  • Working within the EYFS framework to promote learning, play and development
  • Collaborating with the SENCo, class teacher and external professionals
  • Maintaining observations and records, and contributing to the child's EHCP or support plan
  • Supporting the child's emotional regulation, independence and social engagement
  • Building a warm, trusting relationship with the child and their family

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children with ASC in an Early Years or SEN setting
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years or SEN qualification (desirable but not essential with relevant experience)
  • Knowledge of communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton or TEACCH (desirable)
  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • A genuine passion for inclusive Early Years SEN support

The Setting

This is a warm, community-focused school that places inclusion at the core of everything it does. Located in the heart of West London, it prides itself on being calm, purposeful and ambitious - a place where children are inspired, nurtured and challenged in equal measure. The nursery is central to the school's identity, offering a stimulating, play-rich environment with strong pastoral support for both children and staff.
