SEMH/SEND Teaching Assistant – Full-time, long-term from September 2026 until July 2027

This school provides a calm, nurturing, and well‑structured environment where pupils feel supported and safe. Staff work collectively to ensure lessons are purposeful, and pupils show positive attitudes to learning. Leadership promotes high standards and strong pastoral care, helping pupils develop both academically and personally.Duties as SEMH Teaching Assistant:
  • Support pupils in Year 7 throughout the school day.
  • Assist with learning activities planned by the class teacher.
  • Work with pupils individually or in small groups to reinforce understanding.
  • Help maintain a calm and positive environment that supports pupil engagement.
  • Contribute to behaviour support strategies when needed.
  • Promote independence, resilience, and confidence in learners.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil needs and progress.
Ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant:
  • Experience working with Year 7 or KS3 pupils is desirable.
  • Confident supporting learners with varying academic or emotional needs.
  • Able to follow teacher guidance and adapt to classroom routines.
  • Strong communication skills with a patient and encouraging approach.
  • Reliable, proactive, and committed to supporting pupils throughout the academic year.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
