Job Title: Commercial Administrator
Location: Erith (office-based)
Salary: £28,500 – £32,000 (dependent on experience)
Our client, a well-established contractor operating within the social housing sector, is currently seeking a Commercial Administrator to join their growing team based in Erith. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop their career within a commercial function, with a clear progression pathway into a Commercial Supervisor role for the right candidate.
The Role
As a Commercial Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial and operational teams across reactive maintenance and planned works contracts. You will be responsible for ensuring that works are accurately coded, costed, and submitted in line with client requirements and the NHMF Schedule of Rates (SoR).
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing job specifications, photographs, and completion evidence to ensure accurate alignment with NHMF Schedule of Rates (SoR) descriptions
- Processing and validating subcontractor applications, valuations, and cost submissions
- Supporting cost tracking and ensuring all works are recorded correctly against budgets and contracts
- Reviewing and challenging variations, quotes, and non-SoR items to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Liaising with operational teams, supervisors, and commercial teams to ensure accurate coding and timely submissions
- Working across client systems and portals to manage job and cost data effectively
- Assisting in the preparation of reports and commercial documentation
Key Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of NHMF Schedule of Rates (SoR) (essential)
- Experience within social housing repairs, maintenance, or disrepair contracts
- Good understanding of reactive maintenance and planned works processes
- Experience dealing with subcontractor valuations and cost control
- Ability to interpret job specifications and supporting evidence with a high level of accuracy
- Familiarity with client portals such as NEC, Northgate, or similar systems (NEC desirable)
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when reviewing variations and non-standard cost items
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams
