Step Teachers have worked with this small school on the North Norfolk coast for many years, and we know firsthand just how warm, welcoming and genuinely nurturing it is. A recent inspection praised the caring ethos, noting that children feel safe, enjoy coming to school, and approach their learning with calm purpose. This Year 2 Teacher role is a lovely opportunity to join a team we trust and value, and to make a meaningful impact right through to the end of the summer term.Duties as Year 2 Teacher:

  • Assess, record and report on pupils’ progress, using assessment information to inform next steps in learning
  • Create a positive, nurturing classroom environment where all children feel valued, safe and motivated to do their best
  • Work closely with other teachers and support staff to ensure continuity of learning across the week
  • Differentiate learning effectively to meet the needs of all learners, including pupils with SEND and those who are more able
  • Establish and maintain clear behaviour expectations in line with the school’s policies, promoting kindness and respect
  • Communicate professionally with parents and carers as needed regarding pupils’ learning and well-being
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including participating in relevant meetings, planning sessions and moderation activities

  • Able to build warm, trusting relationships with young children and create a classroom where they feel secure and ready to learn
  • Strong behaviour management grounded in positive relationships, consistency and clear expectations
  • Well-organised and reliable, able to manage planning, marking and assessment effectively within a 2-day-a-week timetable
