Quantity Surveyor
Burton upon Trent (office based with regional travel across Nottingham, Derby, Staffordshire and Birmingham)
Monday to Friday 08:30 – 17:00

We’re working with a well-established contractor delivering planned refurbishment works across the social housing sector. They’re looking to bring in a Quantity Surveyor to join their Burton office, supporting projects across the Midlands.

This is a hands-on role within live, tenanted environments, covering a mix of internal and external refurbishment works including kitchens, bathrooms, roofing and general upgrades. You’ll split your time between the office and site, working closely with operational teams to keep projects running smoothly and commercially on track.

You’ll be responsible for managing costs across multiple contracts, ensuring works are delivered within budget while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitoring contract performance and identifying any changes that could impact cost or programme
  • Working alongside Contract Managers to understand project scope and requirements
  • Valuing and authorising subcontractor payments
  • Supporting the management of contract budgets
  • Producing and managing cash flow forecasts
  • Preparing and submitting monthly applications for payment
  • Producing monthly valuations and financial reports
  • Ensuring invoices are issued and payments are received in line with timescales
  • Attending site and client meetings, building strong working relationships
  • Supporting procurement activities and programmes
  • Assisting with estimates, bids and tender submissions

What we’re looking for

  • Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within social housing or refurbishment
  • Comfortable working on tenanted properties and live environments
  • Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills
  • Confident communicator, able to build relationships across teams and with clients
  • Organised and able to manage multiple projects at once

Salary & Package

  • Up to £50,000 per annum
