Permanent Role
Altrincham - fully office based - no Hybrid
Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm (35 hours per week)
£32,000 to £35,000 monthly bonus

I’m recruiting on behalf of a well-established, manufacturing business within the construction supply sector. This role would suit an experienced Customer Service Manager who enjoys leading from the front, developing teams, and improving operational performance. You must be a strong people manager to succeed in this role.
Important: Experience in manufacturing and/or construction is essential for this role. A background solely within service-led industries will not be sufficient.
As Customer Service Manager, you’ll lead and develop a team of 5–6 customer service professionals, ensuring exceptional service delivery across order processing, lead times, delivery confirmations, customer onboarding and query resolution.
You’ll balance hands on leadership with operational oversight, driving continuous improvement through KPIs, workload planning and process optimisation, while working closely with senior leadership across operations, sales and logistics.
You’ll be a confident, credible people manager with a background in manufacturing or construction, comfortable managing both people and processes.
Essential experience:
- Significant customer service management experience within manufacturing and/or construction.
- 3 years’ direct line management experience, with a fair, consistent and supportive approach.
- Strong order processing background with ERP and CRM systems.
- Proven experience managing recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management and wellbeing.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
- Confident communicator with the ability to handle escalations and the unexpected.
- Intermediate Excel skills and confident reporting capability.
