Job Description:
Children settle quickly into a nurturing and stimulating environment where they develop communication, confidence, and social skills through well-planned activities. Staff support children’s emotional security, encourage independence, and create enriching experiences that help them make strong progress from their individual starting points. The curriculum is thoughtfully structured, and staff work together to maintain a safe, engaging, and inclusive setting. This is an initial temporary role as Deputy Nursery Manager, with the possibility of a permanent position for the right candidate, working across rotating shifts.
Duties of the Nursery Manager:- Support children’s development through purposeful play and planned activities.
- Provide warm, responsive care that promotes emotional security.
- Encourage communication and language development through stories, conversations, and imaginative play.
- Promote independence through routines, exploration, and hands-on learning.
- Support children with additional needs using appropriate strategies and resources.
- Work closely with colleagues to maintain a safe, well-organised environment.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and contribute to children’s well-being.
- Engage positively with parents and contribute to updates about children’s learning.
- Work across rotating shifts, including 7–5 and 8–6.
- Level 3 Early Years Practitioner.
- Leadership experience within an early years environment.
- Confident understanding of EYFS practice and curriculum delivery.
- Skilled in supporting communication, social development, and early learning.
- Able to work effectively within a team and support consistent practice.
- Knowledgeable about safeguarding and committed to children’s safety.
- Warm, enthusiastic, and confident in working with families.
- Interested in a temporary position with the potential for a permanent role.
