Nursery Chef - Starting as soon as possible with a shift pattern between 9am - 2pm, Monday to Friday.

Children benefit from a warm, well‑organised environment where staff create purposeful experiences that support communication, confidence and independence. Consistent routines and thoughtful provision help children feel secure, explore freely and make steady progress in all areas of their development. This role plays a key part in supporting the daily running of the setting by providing healthy, well‑planned meals that contribute to children’s wellbeing.

Duties as Nursery Chef:
  • Prepare healthy, nutritious meals and snacks for children in line with dietary requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene at all times.
  • Plan menus that support children’s health and development needs.
  • Work closely with staff to coordinate meal times and ensure smooth routines.
  • Manage stock, ordering, and kitchen organisation effectively.
  • Follow allergy, intolerance and dietary plans accurately.
  • Support the overall care and wellbeing of children through safe food practices.
  • Work the agreed shift pattern of 9am to 2pm, Monday to Friday.
Ideal Nursery Chef:
  • Experience preparing meals in a nursery or similar childcare environment.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene standards and willingness to maintain high levels of compliance.
  • Able to plan and prepare balanced meals for young children.
  • Organised, reliable and confident managing a kitchen independently.
  • Strong understanding of dietary needs, allergies and safe food handling.
  • Positive, friendly and able to work as part of a wider early years team.
