The RoleDue to continued growth, our client is seeking a Quality Engineer to help maintain and enhance their quality systems. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring compliance with recognised quality standards, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and contributing to the delivery of consistently high‑quality products.
Based on site in Abingdon, you will work closely with engineers, technicians, and operational teams, providing hands‑on quality support and helping drive best practices throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of the Quality Management System in line with AS9100 and ISO9001 standards.
- Conduct internal audits, identify non‑conformances, and support corrective action activities.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to refine and update operational and quality procedures.
- Apply statistical process control and other quality tools to monitor process performance.
- Support continuous improvement projects aimed at optimising quality, efficiency, and consistency.
- Deliver training to colleagues on quality processes and principles.
- Participate in quality reviews and contribute to reporting and performance analysis.
- Degree in engineering or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
- At least 2 years’ experience working within a quality role in an AS9100 or ISO9001 environment.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data.
- Background in precision engineering or similar high‑accuracy setting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
- High attention to detail and a proactive, hands‑on approach.
