SEND Teaching Assistant – Full-time, temporary until July 2026 with a view to going permanent from September 2026

Pupils benefit from well‑planned routines, skilled support, and rich experiences that help prepare them for successful futures.Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:
  • Support pupils with SEND and associated needs, including SEMH and ADHD, to access learning.
  • Assist with structured routines, behaviour support, and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Work with staff to deliver tailored interventions that match pupils’ individual needs.
  • Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to help pupils develop confidence and independence.
  • Help implement personalised plans and record progress effectively.
  • Encourage positive engagement, resilience and readiness for learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals as required.
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly SEMH or behavioural needs.
  • Calm, patient and consistent when helping pupils manage emotions and behaviour.
  • Able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils who have had disrupted educational experiences.
  • Confident using strategies to support communication, regulation and engagement.
  • Resilient, proactive and committed to helping pupils succeed.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills when working within a specialised setting.
