L3 Teaching Assistant - SEMH – Full-time, temporary until July 2026 with a view to going permanent from September 2026This setting provides a supportive and nurturing environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and able to develop confidence in their learning. Strong relationships between staff and pupils promote trust, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour. Learners benefit from a broad curriculum, effective support for reading and personal development, and skilled staff who help them build essential knowledge and prepare for future education and employment.Duties as a Teaching Assistant:
  • Support pupils with SEMH needs in small groups of no more than six.
  • Assist with behaviour regulation strategies and emotional support.
  • Help pupils engage positively in learning and develop confidence.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to deliver tailored support.
  • Provide one‑to‑one or group interventions as directed by teaching staff.
  • Encourage pupils to develop independence and resilience.
  • Maintain clear communication with the wider team regarding pupil progress.
Ideal Teaching Assistant:
  • A Level 3 qualification
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or additional needs.
  • Previous experience working with pupils on an EHCP
  • Calm, patient and consistent when helping pupils manage emotions.
  • Able to build positive relationships with learners and encourage engagement.
  • Confident working with small nurture groups.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Committed to helping pupils make academic and personal progress.
  • Reliable, proactive and positive in a specialist environment.
