Salary: £45,000 – £47,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: 10:00am – 7:00pm
We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join an established engineering maintenance team on a busy commercial site in London. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining the building’s infrastructure and ensuring all mechanical and electrical systems operate efficiently.
This is a hands-on role requiring a strong understanding of building services, with a mechanical bias and the ability to support across multiple disciplines. Due to the nature of the site, a flexible approach is required, as occasional out-of-hours work may be necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works across mechanical and electrical systems
• Ensuring all plant and equipment is operating at optimum performance
• Mechanical maintenance including AHUs, FCUs, pumps, motors and HVAC systems
• Supporting minor electrical works when required
• Conducting routine inspections and identifying faults or areas for improvement
• Carrying out minor installations, repairs and system modifications
• Liaising with subcontractors and external suppliers
• Issuing permits to work and following safe systems of work
• Ensuring all logbooks, records and compliance documentation are up to date
• Ordering materials and managing stock levels on site
• Working closely with the client and internal team to ensure high service delivery
Requirements:
• Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services (or equivalent)
• Strong mechanical bias with good all-round building services knowledge
• Experience within a commercial facilities management environment
• Good understanding of health & safety regulations and compliance
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
