SEND Unit Teacher – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing from June 2026
This SEND Unit Teacher role is based within a supportive primary school setting that places inclusion, care, and individual development at the heart of its work. - Plan and deliver tailored teaching and learning for pupils in a Year 2/3 SEND unit
- Adapt the curriculum to meet a range of special educational needs, including communication, cognition, and social development
- Create a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment that supports emotional well-being
- Assess, track, and report on pupil progress, using strategies appropriate to individual needs
- Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals to support pupils effectively
- Implement and review individual education plans and contribute to annual reviews where required
- Maintain clear and consistent behaviour support strategies in line with school policies
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and promote positive relationships with pupils and families
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Has experience teaching pupils with SEND, ideally within a primary or specialist setting
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of inclusive practice and differentiated teaching strategies
- Is patient, resilient, and committed to supporting pupils with additional needs
- Communicates effectively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies
- Is reflective, organised, and keen to contribute to a long-term teaching role as a SEND Unit Teacher
