Cover Manager – Permanent, full-time role, starting September 2026

• Manage daily teacher cover arrangements across the secondary school
• Coordinate planned and unplanned staff absence to ensure continuity of learning
• Allocate internal and external cover staff efficiently
• Communicate cover arrangements clearly to teaching and support staff
• Maintain accurate records of staff absence and cover usage
• Liaise with senior leaders regarding staffing pressures and solutions
• Support timetable adjustments when required
• Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed during cover arrangements
• Contribute to the smooth operational running of the school day

Ideal Cover Manager:

• Previous experience in a school administration or cover management role is highly desirable
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills
• Ability to work calmly and accurately under pressure
• Excellent communication skills with staff at all levels
• Confident using school MIS and timetabling systems
• Proactive, reliable, and able to use initiative
• Strong attention to detail
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
