Reception Class Teacher – Full-time, temporary to permanent from September 2026
This Reception Class Teacher role is within a primary setting where children benefit from a nurturing early years environment and well-structured routines that support learning and development. Teaching is purposeful and engaging, with a strong focus on early communication, personal development, and readiness for future learning. Leaders provide clear direction and support staff effectively, creating a calm and positive atmosphere where children feel safe, confident, and eager to learn.Duties as Reception Class Teacher:
  • Plan and deliver high-quality teaching in line with the EYFS framework
  • Create a stimulating, inclusive, and well-organised Reception classroom environment
  • Support children’s development across communication, language, literacy, numeracy, and personal development
  • Use ongoing assessment to inform planning and next steps for learning
  • Maintain strong classroom routines and positive behaviour expectations
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and early years colleagues
  • Build positive relationships with parents and carers through clear communication
  • Contribute to wider early years planning and school development
  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and follow all school policies
Ideal Reception Class Teacher:
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status
  • Has proven experience teaching in Reception or Early Years
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development
  • Is confident managing a full-time Reception class
  • Is warm, patient, and committed to supporting young children’s learning and wellbeing
  • Is organised, reflective, and adaptable
  • Is able to commit to a temporary to permanent role from September 2026
