School Business Manager – Full-time, temporary to permanent from ASAP
This role is based within a school environment where leaders have established a positive ethos and clear expectations that support both staff and pupils. Teaching and learning are underpinned by well-organised systems, strong pastoral care, and a culture of respect and inclusion. Staff work collaboratively, and leadership ensures that resources and processes are used effectively to support pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and personal development. Duties as School Business Manager:

Duties as School Business Manager:
- Lead the strategic and operational management of the school’s business functions
- Oversee finance, budgeting, and financial planning to ensure effective use of resources
- Manage premises, health and safety, and compliance with statutory requirements
- Oversee HR processes, including staffing, contracts, and personnel records
- Manage procurement, contracts, and relationships with external suppliers
- Ensure policies and procedures are up to date and followed consistently
- Support senior leaders by providing accurate management information and reports
- Line manage administrative and support staff where appropriate
- Ensure safeguarding, data protection, and confidentiality requirements are met
- Contribute to the overall effectiveness and sustainability of the school
- Has proven experience working as a School Business Manager or in a senior school business role
- Has strong financial management and budgeting experience within a school setting
- Demonstrates a sound understanding of HR, premises, and compliance in education
- Is highly organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities
- Communicates effectively with senior leaders, staff, and external partners
- Works confidently both independently and as part of a leadership team
- Has a strong commitment to safeguarding and ethical practice
- Is seeking a temporary to permanent, full-time opportunity starting as soon as possible
